Category Image 10 Million in U.S. Without Healthcare are Not Citizens

Hat tip to Right Truth for coming across the Census Bureau figures 2006 pertaining to health insurance coverage. So, what do the recently released Census numbers say about insurance coverage?  Take a look at this chart released by the Census Bureau:

So, of the 47 million uninsured in America, over 10 million are not citizens. What is a non-citizen? The PDF from the Census bureau isn't specific, but it seems from their descriptions, "not a citizen" refers to permanent residents and illegal aliens. Without an exact definition, it is impossible to precisely say how many illegals were counted in this category. But, think about it, right now, out of 47 million uninsured people in America, 10.2 million aren't citizens.

QUESTIONS THAT NEED TO BE ANSWERED

• How many of the 10 million are illegals?

• How many of these 10 million "not a citizen" received public assistance for medical care?

• How much would the U.S. save if it didn't provide medical care (except for life threatening/critical care) for this group of 10 million.

My assumption, and it is only an assumption, is that most of the 10 million in the "not a citizen" category are illegal aliens.  And that means we could go a long way to solving our out of control medical costs by controlling who enters our nation. So the next time your health insurance premiums go up, remember you are subsidizing close to 10 million people in the country and they aren't even citizens!
