Another Example of Why We Need Border Enforcement 

We hear that patrolling the border hurts illegal immigrants who only want to better their lives.  We hear that building a border fence will hurt wildlife, divide communities along the border, and destroy archaeological sites.  Yet, none of these groups that are for open borders will admit that there is a problem, a problem of crime and criminals entering from Mexico into the United States of America.

On August 21, Border Patrol agents in Arizona had a good day.  At the Naco station, they stopped a man from illegally crossing the border.  During processing they found, "he had been convicted of having sex with a minor and rape by force or fear in 2003 in San Bernardino County...."  Good job guys, you prevented this sexually perverted felon from committing more crimes in the United States.

A little further along the border on the same day, agents captured an SUV loaded with 1,500 pounds of marijuana.

To all those against the border fence, I say that protecting Americans from criminals and drug traffickers trumps the rights of wildlife. Guarding the border does and can work.  It just takes a commitment from Washington, which of course requires that ordinary Americans keep up the pressure on their representatives.
