Why Democrats Shouldn't Talk About the Military
Obama sounded like a leftist the other day, insinuating that American forces were targeting Afghan civilians willy-nilly.
Straight from the mouth of "Mr. Bomb Pakistan Now":
We've got to get the job done there, and that requires us to have enough troops so that we're not just air-raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous pressure over there.
We in Hell understand what he was trying to say, but the problem is that all the children of the left, like Obama, can't say anything about the military without it being infected by their inheritance, the radicalism of the sixties.
Obama meant to merely point out the recent Afghan civilian casualties have caused friction between American troops and the local population. Unfortunately, for the left, such a simple observation can never be voiced. Why? It is a simple progression. America is unjust and often the source of evil. Thus everything America does is suspect. The military, an extension of America, therefore is not to be trusted, because more than likely they are carrying out the immoral policies of The United States.
As a result, we get Obama's statement, a statement that of course misses the mark. For instance, does Obama note that the Taliban and Al-Qaeda often hide among civilians? And of course, does he question the often inflated numbers of dead and wounded given by the local Taliban sympathizer, and simply repeated by the local stringer hired by the AP?
No, the child of the sixties, the child of the left, like a Kerry, like a Murtha, like a Durbin, and now like an Obama, show their true feelings about America, by believing that everything it it does is dubious and monstrous.
How can someone who believes that their country is evil, lead it?
