How Americans Once Viewed Tyrants
Once upon a time, Americans knew what a tyrant was. Today, some Americans invite them to give speeches. They applaud as the tyrant brags about killing homosexuals, oppressing women, and building nuclear weapons.
That certain percentage of our population instead compares our president to Hitler, sees our nation as a source of evil, and would prefer to see our troops defeated on the battlefield.
Once upon a time, Americans knew what a tyrant was....
Once upon a time, even when events on the battlefield were bleak, Americans fought until victory was achieved. Today, a certain segment of our society are convinced that 9/11 was a government conspiracy and that Iraq is a lost cause. Some of these people even started protesting against war two days after the Twin Towers were attacked.
Once upon a time, Americans believed in victory and fought despite the odds. Now part of our population looks at the victory at Yorktown as an affront to human civilization.
