If Waterboarding is Torture, Then We Await Sen. Kennedy in Hell

We in Hell appreciate irony. This weeks irony award goes to Senator Kennedy for opposing the Mukasey nomination because the former judge wouldn't call waterboarding torture.

Kennedy last week, said the following: "Waterboarding is torture. Period. Yet Judge Mukasey refuses to say so." You can read the blowhard's hypocritical statement here.

Kennedy is of course the Senate's leading expert on death by drowning, having sent a young lady to her death in a watery grave, strapped to the front seat of an Oldsmobile.

Apparently, death by drowning, going by Kennedy's past, is okay for American citizens and his female acquaintances, but not appropriate for foreign terrorists. Don't you just love how liberals and the left think?

Furthermore, Kennedy argues that Mukasey won't be independent of the White House. Excuse me Mr. Senator, but we in Hell have a copy of the Constitution in front of us and as far as we can see, the executive branch, within reason of the law, is administered by the President. So are you saying that the Justice Department is a new and independent fourth branch of the government? When did the Constitution get rewritten?

But if anyone has any doubts that Kennedy is a raving leftist, take in the following paragraph as he continues to rail against Mukasey: 

Over the past six years, the Bush Administration has run roughshod over the rule of law, and has taken the Department of Justice along for the ride.  In light of that history, the Senate must demand an Attorney General who will speak truth to power, and follow the law, no matter what the consequences.  Judge Mukasey’s equivocations and evasions on critical issues give me no confidence that he will fulfill this vital role.  After six long years of reckless disregard for the rule of law by this Administration, we cannot afford to take our chances on the judgment of someone who either does not know torture when he sees it, or is willing to pretend so to suit the President. Read all of it.
