Satan's Saturday Fire and Brimstone

Satan will never understand how the left thinks. Here we have Speaker Nancy Pelosi, far left San Francisco Democrat, who has fought against U.S. involvement Iraq since coming to power in January, yet she mingles with butchers. Obviously she is anti-war, but yet she is going to find time to meet with the dictator of Damascus, Bashir al-Assad.

We in Hell, find it odd, that a woman, who as Speaker of the House, who has been the key supporter and facilitator of bills that call for an American retreat from a dangerous, yet inferior enemy, thinks that it is appropriate to talk to Israel's sworn enemy. If she is so anti-violence, so anti-war, then why would she talk with a regime that has assassinated several Lebanese leaders during the last few years? Why would she talk with a regime that supports Hezbollah, a terrorist group that is anti-Semitic and has American blood on its hands?

Why? Because once again, as if Satan needs to say it out loud, the left, brought up by parents radicalized in the 1960s, despises their own nation, to the extent, they see it as the source of most of the evil in the world.

Whereas their drug addled parents idolized butchers like Mao, Ho Chi Minh, Castro, and Che Guevara, because they "stood" against American imperialism, the children now admire Assad, the Palestinians, Hezbollah, and even al-Qaeda, because they view these people and groups as "the resistance against American hegemony."

Whether you want to call it a moral or intellectual perspective, it turns reality on its head. It is simply dangerous to have leftists like Pelosi in positions of power. Satan can only wonder where people who hate America will steer its foreign policy. Obviously, the destination can't be a desirable port.

The Bush administration on Friday condemned plans by U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to visit Syria and possibly meet its president, who the United States has accused of helping destabilize the region.

"We don't think it's a good idea," said White House spokeswoman Dana Perino. "This is a country that is a state sponsor of terror, one that is trying to disrupt the Siniora government in Lebanon and one that is allowing foreign fighters to flow into Iraq from its borders."

The top House Democrat, who is third in line to the presidency, is already in Israel and will meet senior leaders there as well as address the Knesset, or parliament, in coming days.

Pelosi was expected to visit Damascus and Beirut next week.
