The Decline of Great Powers:  House Concurrent Resolution 63

Or Hatred for Their Own Country

House Concurrent Resolution, passed in the House by a vote of 246 to 182 on February 16th.  February 16th will be noted by historians as the day the United States lost its will survive.  Here is the text of the bill:

Disapproving of the decision of the President announced on January 10, 2007, to deploy more than 20,000 additional United States combat troops to Iraq.

Resolved by the House of Representatives (the Senate concurring), That--

            (1) Congress and the American people will continue to support and protect the members of the United States Armed Forces who are serving or who have served bravely and honorably in Iraq; and

            (2) Congress disapproves of the decision of President George W. Bush announced on January 10, 2007, to deploy more than 20,000 additional United States combat troops to Iraq.

Not only do we have 246 members of Congress micromanaging the battle plan, they have in plain text told our soldiers that all the hard work and sacrifice has been a waste.  More importantly though, the Democrats are telling the world the the greatest power on earth, is unwilling-not unable-just unwilling to defeat a minor, insignificant enemy.

Let's face it, Bush has blundered on the conduct of the occupation of Iraq, but the elections of 2006 forced him to reconsider his war plan.  Rumsfeld was replaced, a new plan of occupation drawn up, and a new capable general put in charge.  The left isn't interested in this victory, they want the U.S. humiliated.

The enemy in Iraq is nothing compared to the Viet Cong.  They are insignificant.  Our losses are minor.  We've lost 3,000 people from a country of 300,000,000.  The message that the Democrats gave our enemies today is that the U.S. is unwilling to defend itself, no matter how small the cost.

It is my view, that the loathing the left has for this nation's success is manifest in this resolution.  The left, as exemplified by the Democrats aren't worried about this country's defense.  They hate the manly show of arms.  They despise the concept of God, Country, Family.  They would talk and negotiate rather than raise a hand in anger to foreigners who despise our way of life.

Instead, the left, through the Democrats, are more concerned with matters that undermine the vigor and virtue of the nation.  Namely, abortion, homosexual marriage, high taxes, government health care, welfare benefits, and diversity are the issues by which they entertain the masses while nation's foundation is allowed to crumble.

It happens to all republics as the virility of the nation is replaced with narcissism:

The Romans continued their high-minded course so long as they enjoyed liberty, but when they submitted to the rule of Emperors, and these Emperors began to be corrupted, preferring the shade of the palace to the sun of the camp, then they also began to buy off the Parthians, the Germans, and other neighboring peoples, which was the beginning of the ruin of their great empire.--The Discourse by Machiavelli

The Democrats and the left will try to buy off our enemies.  They will bleat that we should negotiate and talk.  They will offer foreign aid and hope that buys off the enemy.  They will say America is the problem and hope that satisfies our enemies..  All during this time though, the Islamic jihad will be planning their next attack while Americans are distracted by gay marriage and the redistribution of wealth taken from the rich.  It has already started.  Who do you think is paying for the minimum wage hike?

Lastly, those who voted for this resolution, should from hereon, have their names associated those who would undermine the valor and vigor of our republic through an effeminate foreign policy:
