For some reason, it seems the nation and its far left press have overlooked that fact that the Democrats have controlled the purse strings of the nation since 2006. During that time, with the Democrats in control of both houses of Congress, and since 2008, the Executive branch, our nation’s budget deficits have soared.
Incompetence? Malice? Either are fine descriptions of the intentions and actions of the DEMOCRATIC MAJORITY.
It is time that we hold the Democrats responsible for their actions. They were the party in power in 2007 and 2008 in the Legislative branch that approved higher and higher budget deficits. The Democrats, have held both the Executive and Legislative branch since the beginning of 2009 and this nation has witnessed unparalleled deficit spending under this regime.
One of the criticisms of the Tea Party movement is that it started only when Obama became president. Maybe, it is simply a reaction to the last two years of the Bush administration, when a Democratically controlled Congress failed to reign in spending.
Here’s a handy little chart that pretty well illustrates the one to one correspondence between the Democrats taking control of Congress in the beginning of 2007 and huge monthly deficits:
You can download the Excel sheet from the Treasury Department, here, and verify my results.

The above chart brings us to this month’s Democratic incompetence. They’ve spent like no other government on the planet, yet our economy is still in the doldrums and unemployment climbed to 10.2% last month. This month, the Democrats deficit spent by $176 billion on what will prove to be more programs that do little to nothing in returning our economy to prosperity.
As evidence, take a look at this Treasury table:

Besides the incompetent or malicious spending last month by the Democrats, note another indicator of an economy in retraction from this Treasury report. Tax receipts in October 2009 are $29 billion lower than they were in 2008. Another sign that all this spending by the Democratic majority isn’t putting people to work, who aren’t paying income taxes….
