Barack Obama is a leftist. A hard leftist at that, though he couches his agenda in the two word mantra of “change” and “hope.”

Do you want proof? Then look no further than Robert Malley, a foreign policy expert who is part of the Obama campaign.

Here is a description of Malley, from a leftist website:

One of ICG’s more notable officials is Robert Malley, who in 2007 was named as a foreign policy advisor to Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama. Malley formerly served as President Bill Clinton’s Special Assistant for Arab-Israeli Affairs (1998-2001), and as National Security Advisor Sandy Berger’s Executive Assistant (1996-1998). The Malley family’s longstanding close ties to Yasser Arafat are significant. (For more information on these links to Arafat, see the profiles of Robert Malley and Simon Malley.)

Close ties to Arafat, huh. Close ties to a terrorist, a murderer, a man who stole billions from an impoverished people, and a man who was able to destroy any hopes for a Palestinian state.
So who is Robert Malley you ask? For starters, he is the director of the International Crisis Group(ICG) and his background is described as such:

  • Middle East and North Africa Program Director for the International Crisis Group
  • Formerly served as President Bill Clinton’s Special Assistant for Arab-Israeli Affairs
  • Son of Simon Malley, a key figure in the Egyptian Communist Party
  • Blamed Israel for the failed Camp David peace negotiations with Yasser Arafat in 2000
  • Has co-written a number of op-ed pieces with Hussein Agha, a former adviser to Arafat
  • Consistently condemns Israel, exonerates Palestinians, urges U.S. disengagement from Israel, and recommends that America reach out to negotiate with its traditional Arab enemies

ICG is funded by, guess who? That’s right, George Soros. Here’s what they promote:

ICG project director Peter Harling has co-written with Robert Malley a number of op-eds critical of American actions in Iraq, and advocating U.S. diplomatic outreach to Muqtada al-Sadr, Iran, and Syria. And ICG senior analyst Nicholas Pelham has called for U.S. outreach toward Hamas.

I’m guess by saying they advocate “negotiating” with Muqtada al-Sadr, the ICG doesn’t mean through the business end of a smart bomb.

Do you think the fact that Obama hired Mr. Malley has anything to do with 20 years of listening to Rev. Wright rant and rave against Israeli atrocities against the Palestinians such as this:

“The Israelis have illegally occupied Palestinian territories for over 40 years now. Divestment has now hit the table again as a strategy to wake the business community and wake up Americans concerning the injustice and the racism under which the Palestinians have lived because of Zionism.” –Rev. Jeremiah Wright
