Previously, as I noted in my hometown, it seemed that team Obama’s strategy to jump starting the economy, via the Recovery Act of 2009, was to heavily invest beauty schools.  I bet Michigan, with 12% unemployment will be glad to know that that strategy is being used in their state was well.

I guess this a much wiser use of taxpayer money, than say keeping roads in Michigan from being allowed to revert to gravel paths….

$145,000 from the Department of Education:

Here’s another for only $502,000…

But let’s save the best for last.  How about a $124,000 from the Department of Education for a “new age” school of massage and aroma therapy among other things.

I kid you not.  Here’s a description, via screenshot, from the school’s homepage:

Maybe Obama could use some of the ARRA money to buy some crystals to heal the economy while he is at it.

This is an obscene waste of taxpayer money.  Heaven knows what these expenditures are supposed to do in terms of stimulating Michigan’s economy.

Now, in terms of buying votes, I get it, but the nation and Michigan will be no better for these three expenditures.
