The mainstream media is just plain horrible in so many respects.
Here we have a presidential candidate who first says he never heard the Rev. Wright spout his anti-American views.
Then a few days later in his “race” speech, Obama says:
For some, nagging questions remain. Did I know him to be an occasionally fierce critic of American domestic and foreign policy? Of course. Did I ever hear him make remarks that could be considered controversial while I sat in church? Yes.
And yesterday, Obama changed his story once again.
Obama gave an interview with Philly radio talk show host Michael Smerconish that airs today. Obama, asked if he ever spoke with Rev. Wright about some of his controversial views, said, “I’ll be honest with you, I didn’t have that many conversations with him over the last year just because I’ve been so busy. I haven’t been going to church. I wasn’t hearing a lot of these comments. In fact, the ones that are most offensive are ones that I just never knew about until they were reported on.
“I had conversations with him in the past — in fact from the day that I first met him — about some of his views. But understand this, something else that I think has not gotten reported on enough, is despite these very offensive views, this guy has built one of the finest churches in Chicago. It’s not some crackpot church. I mean, witness the fact that Bill Clinton invited him to the White House when he was having his personal crises.
“This is a pillar of the community and if you go there this Easter Sunday and you sat down in the pew, you’d think, ‘Well this is just like any other church.’ You got kids and little girls with bows in their hair and people dressed in their Sunday finest. They’re talking about Jesus and the Resurrection.
“So I don’t want to suggest that somehow this was…the loop that you’ve been seeing typified services all the time. But that’s the danger of the YouTube era. It doesn’t excuse what he said, but it is to just give it some perspective so people understand.”
Where is the press calling him on the carpet to explain his changing story?
Now we are back to “I didn’t hear them.” Utter bull. Rev. Wright is a leftist and a practitioner of black liberation theology. There is no way on God’s green earth that a man like Wright could compartmentalize his hatred for white controlled America. Wright’s worldview revolves around his notion that America is wickedly racist and Obama knows it.
Obama’s newest version, brings me to one of two beliefs. One, he shares Wright’s strident leftist anti-Americanism and his passion for black liberation theology.
Or Obama joined Rev. Wright’s church on a political calculation, believing it would strengthen his credentials in the black community and help his chances in attaining an elective office. Thus in the furtherance of his political career, he tolerated Wright’s message. To associate with such a man for political gain is extremely damning.
Obama is either a virulent anti-American or he is willing to associate with anti-Americans to further his political carreer. In either case, it means Obama is unfit to be president of the United States.
But, if we look at this interview, we find Obama is also changing his tune in terms of distancing himself from Wright. He calls this church, where its preacher “damned” America from its pulpit, as a pillar of the community. What kind of community is this where the message from the pulpit is closer to Osama bin Laden than that of Thomas Jefferson or MLK?
Holy Mary! You can say the same damned thing about almost every other warped group out there. Hell, the IRA did a lot of good, if you don’t count all the people they killed over the years! The bottom line, is that any good performed by this church is tainted by its undermining of the black community’s faith in the institutions of this republic. It teaches its members to distrust America, to adopt what is essentially a communist work ethic, and to assign every setback in life the racism of white controlled America.
Obama is comfortable with this church’s anti-Americanism, its crackpot conspiracy theories, and anti-white preaching that the members heard on a regular basis. Of course, if you are a typical leftist, then you yourself are comfortable with Obama, his Wright warts and all.
