From what I can see, Obama the socialist, as all good socialists, is more interested in the will of the state, or in other words his will. And that will? A public and national health care based system. The anger of August will be dismissed because in the mind of the socialist, the elites know best.
It might not be called a public option, but ultimately, anything passed will limit your personal freedom.
Take for instance, the “bipartisan” plans:
Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, a Democrat who leads a group of six senators trying to craft compromise legislation, will put forward a plan including sweeping insurance market changes and a fee on companies that will help pay to cover the uninsured, said a source familiar with the proposal.
It calls for non-profit cooperatives to compete with insurance companies but does not contain a new government-run health insurance plan — the “public option” — sought by many liberal Democrats and backed by Obama, the source said.
Pelosi said she believed the House would not pass a reform bill without a public option, which is fiercely opposed by insurance companies and many Republicans.
Olympia Snowe, a Republican member of the Senate negotiating group, supports a compromise that would not initially include a public option but would “trigger” the creation of a government program if insurance companies failed to meet cost and quality benchmarks. Link
A rose by any other name….
Time to write, call, or email your Congressman to remind them that August wasn’t just a bad dream….

With tonight’s speech, it appears that the President has largely washed his hands of a “bi-partisan” approach to health care. Seriously, how can you rationally negotiate with the other side of aisle dominated by fact-denying birthers (which now includes the pathetic Mean Jean Schmidt), deathers (who in the Hell is so stupid to believe the lie about “death panels?”), teabaggers terrified of that “horrible Negro” in the “White’s House,” the sheeple following the orders of Boss Limbaugh and the other wingnut radio hosts like an army of zombies, and those mindless thugs intimidating those who dared to voice the truth about about the health care crisis in the country. Instead, he is standing with the large silent majority (ranging from 55 percent to 77 percent) in favor of a public OPTION (which no one will be forced to join, but will pressure the private, profit-driven insurance companies to improve their coverage…sounds like “market forces” to me), prohibiting those greedy bastards from denying coverage to those with pre-existing conditions or dropping coverage from those when they actually need it (remember, these companies maximize profits by NOT delivering benefits to those “covered” by their plans), and mandating that employers offer coverage and individuals enroll in some health care coverage (so that these free-riding slackers don’t shift costs to the rest of us). Too bad the wingnut Republicans, who are deriding the cost of the program ($900 billion over a decade) weren’t so concerned about blowing more than that amount on the war-of-choice in Iraq, or the tax-cuts for the rich in the 1980s and early 2000s (or, bailing out Wall street to the tune of $800 billion last year).
Oh, I almost forgot. For more horrible, left-wing hate, you know where to come!
Let’s see, another well known bureaucratically run health care system and end of life stuff: http://www.endoflifecare.nhs.uk/eolc/
Withholding food and water? I’d call that a death panel.
So the silent majority wants me to pay for their health care? Get bent.
Now that real Americans, and not the Soviet inspired leftist of the Democratic Party are voicing their opinions at town hall meetings, dissent is now unpatriotic?
Bottom line, why the rush to recreate the health care system of the Soviet Union?
Five year plans suck.
Planned economies fail.
And you guys want to recreate that model.
Congress shall make no law are the best words ever written.
