Public Health Emergency Declared in Face of Killer Flu

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is on the ball, as they declared a Public Health Emergency today..

Too bad key health officials still haven’t been appointed by Obama.

The outbreak in the United States comes before President Obama has his full health team in place. His nominee for health secretary, Kathleen Sebelius, has not yet been confirmed by the Senate, nor has the woman he selected to Food and Drug Administration, Margaret Hamburg, a former New York City health commissioner. Mr. Obama has not yet named anyone to run the Centers for Disease Control or the National Institutes of Health.

But Robert Gibbs, the White House press secretary, said the administration is prepared.  Link

Now that is competence you can depend on!

But don’t worry, the CDC and the DHS are on the case and here is their plan:

Clearly we all have individual responsibility for dealing with this situation. We should all be practicing good hygienic practices, such as hand-washing on a regular basis; if you feel sick, it makes sense to stay home; and then also following the other practices that are common sense when we deal with an outbreak of flu every year.

Must be based on Obama’s plan to solve the oil crisis–just check your tire pressure.  Like inflating your tires won’t increase oil production, washing one’s hands won’t stop illegal immigrants from Mexico crossing our borders and further spreading this virus.
