Illegal immigrants are here to do the jobs Americans won’t. They are just hard working people looking to better their lives. That is what we were told by our elite politicians when they tried to paint illegal immigration as nothing more than a benign problem.
Reality casts illegal immigration in a different light. Among those looking for a better life are murderers, thieves, sexual predators. America needs to screen those who enter our nation and it must control the border to do so.
The nanny state says that one death by drunken driving is one death too much. The nanny state says one death of an unsecured baby in car is one death too many. The nanny state says one death by smoking is one death too many.
Then I ask, why isn’t the nanny state concerned by the crimes of illegal immigrants? Is one crime against an American citizen by an criminal illegall alien, one crime too many?
Today’s edition is a “three for” and we’ll start with a press release from the Border Patrol:
Border Patrol agents assigned to the Tucson, Ariz. sector, arrested two illegal aliens, both aggravated felons involving sex crimes. The arrests were made during separate incidents over the weekend north of the city of Nogales and the village of Topowa, Ariz.
On early Friday morning just after midnight, agents in Casa Grande apprehended a 30-year-old Mexican national who turned out to be a convicted sex offender. Aaron Flores-Moreno was convicted and is a registered sex offender out of Virginia.
He was traveling with 10 other individuals, when agents apprehended the group near the village of Topowa on the Tohono O’odham Reservation. Flores-Moreno was arrested by the Norfolk, Va. police in 2006. He was subsequently found guilty of two counts of rape and sentenced to two years of imposed incarceration and an 18-month suspended sentence.
He had been previously registered as a sex offender, leading to his ordered removal from the U.S. on October 31, 2007. Since he is a convicted felon, Flores-Moreno is being held in Border Patrol custody pending prosecution for reentry of an aggravated felon.
On Saturday night at approximately 8 p.m., Nogales agents arrested Rigoberto Jasso-Soto north of Nogales. The 29-year-old Mexican national had a felony conviction in Indiana for sexual battery and criminal confinement and was sentenced to 545 days in prison. Jasso-Soto is being held in Border Patrol custody pending prosecution for reentry of an aggravated felon.
So, let’s get this straight, the Border Patrol caught a registered sex offender-a rapist- from Virgina, here illegally and in addition, they apprehended another convicted sexual pervert. Both had been deported and both re-entered our country. What’s the common thread here? An undefended southern border!
Moving on, here is our second criminal alien brought to us by the Border Patrol:
Border Patrol agents assigned to the New Orleans sector arrested an individual with an outstanding warrant for arrest stemming from narcotics charges out of Denver.
The arrest occurred Sunday when agents were conducting smuggling interdiction operations on Highway 61 near Vicksburg. The agents observed a white high-capacity passenger van commonly used as smuggling vehicles. The agents performed a vehicle stop and questioned the occupants on their immigration status. All eight occupants admitted to entering the United States illegally.
During processing, all the subject’s fingerprints were submitted into the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System. Record checks identified one subject to be Jairo Acosta Miranda, a 24-year-old citizen of Honduras with an outstanding warrant of arrest for dangerous drugs out of Denver.
At least this criminal illegal alien wasn’t a murderer or sexual predator, he was just a drug dealer who crossed our open southern border.
The third part of our feature comes from ICE:
In a major removal operation U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deported 94 Nigerian nationals yesterday to Lagos, Nigeria. Fifty-five of the Nigerians removed had criminal histories in the United States.
The criminal histories of those removed included sex crimes, assault, cruelty to a child, drug convictions, embezzlement, forgery, fraud and counterfeiting.
The flight, contracted for by the Office of Detention and Removal Operations (DRO) Operations Support and Coordination Unit, carried a total of 107 individuals being removed from the United States, including 11 Palestinian nationals, 1 Moroccan national and 1 Egyptian national. Four of the Palestinians and both the Moroccan and the Egyptian had criminal histories. The individuals had been housed at various detention facilities across the country and were staged at the Batavia, N.Y. Federal Detention Facility shortly before the flight. The flight departed Niagara Falls Airport on the afternoon of January 15 stopping in Lagos, Nigeria, Cairo, Egypt and Amman, Jordan.
The Canadian government also participated in the flight to remove 10 Nigerian deportees, 7 of whom were criminals. The flight was staffed with 20 DRO officers and 6 Canadian officers. 2 Nigerian Consular officers from their embassy in the U.S. and 1 Nigerian Consular from their embassy in Canada accompanied the flight.
“More than half of the individuals on this flight have criminal records in the United States. The ICE mission is to protect national security and public safety and this removal operation is an outstanding example of how we accomplish that mission,” said Charles Mule’, acting field office director for ICE detention and removal operations in Buffalo. “All of the individuals removed had due process through America’s criminal and immigration courts and the foreign governments worked closely with ICE to make the return to their home countries possible.”
In fiscal year 2007, ICE removed more than 278,000 aliens from the country including over 41,000 who returned voluntarily to their country of nationality, a record for the agency. More than 91,000 had criminal histories.
One can take a couple of lessons from this ICE report. First, while most of our illegal immigration problem comes from Latin America, there are other sources and in this case it was Africa and the Middle East. More importantly, one finds out that of the 280,000 illegals deported in 2007, 91,000 had criminal backgrounds. 9-1-0-0-0 were criminals. Let’s say that one more time, ninety one thousand were criminals.
Then again, when your front door and back door are left unlocked….

I feel so all alone. I can’t stand either of them. This is so unfair. They say conservatives can’t win? How the heck do they know? They never allow us to run a true conservative. tsk, tsk, tsk. I’ll have to make up my mind by Tuesday. I’m thinking about voting for Fred, but then again, I want to vote against McCain. Oh, the agony of defeat…the agony of our Border Patrol Agents being murdered, the agony of committing murder-run to Mexico-and you don’t have to face the same penalties as an American citizen? This is BS! Oh, let me stop now, while I still have a little dignity left…lol.
