Take a look at what the face of third world intimidation tactics look like. Communism with a smile. Toe the party line or face the wrath of the power of the state. Criticize the leader, criticize the agenda, criticize the programs, or just plain think differently, the state will use all of its massive power to destroy you.

Helen Jones-Kelley, director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, confirmed today that she OK’d the check on Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher following the Oct. 15 presidential debate.
She said there were no political reasons for the check on the sudden presidential campaign fixture though the Support Enforcement Tracking System.
Amid questions from the media and others about “Joe the Plumber,” Jones-Kelley said she approved a check to determine if he was current on any ordered child-support payments.
Such information was not and cannot be publicly shared, she said. It is unclear if Wurzelbacher is involved in a child-support case. Reports state that he lives alone with a 13-year-old son.
“Our practice is when someone is thrust quickly into the public spotlight, we often take a look” at them, Jones-Kelley said, citing a case where a lottery winner was found to owe past-due child support. “Our practice is to basically look at what is coming our way.”
Ohio Inspector General Thomas P. Charles confirmed today that he is investigating the incident to determine if “Joe”s” records were legally accessed by Job and Family Services employees.
Comrade Jones-Kelley probably was deeply offended that some yahoo redneck from Toledo dared to ask her candidate of choice a question. Comrade Jones-Kelley probably went ballistic as the yahoo redneck plumber exposed the socialist agenda of her candidate of choice.
Now you ask, how do I know that Comrade Jones-Kelley’s candidate of choice is Barack Obama?
Just go to the Federal Elections Commission and search for Comrade Jones-Kelley and you will find this:
Comrade Jones-Kelley, member of the Democratic Party, contributor to the Obama campaign, upset at the peasantry, clinging to outdated notions of property and class, used the power of government to attack Joe the Plumber in hopes of silencing him, harassing him, if not ultimately incarcerating him.
It is called abuse of power in a free republican system that limits the scope of government.
In Jones-Kelley’s world, where the cult of personality is paramount, where the role of government is to provide a standard of living for less than capable people, where the agenda of the party is more important than the rights of individual, it is simply seen as another tool to control an ignorant populace who should be ruled by their betters.
A free people cannot tolerate a Jones-Kelley and we at the The Virtuous Republic call for her resignation and her prosecution to the fullest extent of Ohio’s law. If the guarantees of Ohio’s Constitution mean anything, this woman will be fired and punished.
Ohio’s Bill of Rights explicitly guarantees free political discourse. And fear of retribution for one’s opinion is not freedom of speech!
Every citizen may freely speak, write, and publish his sentiments on all subjects, being responsible for the abuse of the right; and no law shall be passed to restrain or abridge the liberty of speech, or of the press. In all criminal prosecutions for libel, the truth may be given in evidence to the jury, and if it shall appear to the jury, that the matter charged as libelous is true, and was published with good motives, and for justifiable ends, the party shall be acquitted.
Then again, Obama views “negative liberties” as antiquated, therefore should it surprise you that his followers also believe that to be so. Obama wants to know what government can do to you in a 2001 interview, we already know what government can do Mr. Obama–this is why we as a nation have limited it.
Update: The more I think about, isn’t using the power of the state to curtail a citizen’s speech rights a civil rights violation under both the Ohio and U.S. constitutions? Using the power of the state to investigate a person that dares to ask a candidate a simple question no doubts creates a hostile and fearful atmosphere for speech rights. Must Ohioans undergo a background check whenever they exercise their God given rights?
Once again, The Virtuous Republic urges the immediate removal of Jones-Kelley and we demand an investigation into her violation of the speech rights of Joe the Plumber, guaranteed by Ohio’s Constitution.

Just rereading the above quote. Party member of good standing, Jones-Kelley was irate after the October 15th debate. McCain used Joe the Plumber to beat Obama over the head. McCain exposed Obama as a socialist. An Ohioan, an average “Joe” had just given the written off McCain campaign the opening it was looking for.
What else does a good apparatchik do? In the Soviet Union, they declared the dissenters mentality ill and sent them to the insane asylum or worse, they declared them an enemy of the state and banished them to the gulag.
Here in Ohio, supporters of Obama use the power of the state to sift through the records of an individual who has simply exercised their rights under the Ohio Constitution in order to discredit them or even worse, silence them.
That is the hallmark of totalitarianism. This is the state of affairs in Ohio as conducted by a state official and member of the ruling party machinery.
