We in Hell usually don’t cuss (so be warned) too much on this blog, but how else do you describe an arrogant, self-absorbed prick who thinks it is great to appeal to and be popular with even bigger assholes like these?
What generally burns Our already charred asses in Hell, is that the left, NO MATTER WHAT, will not admit they are wrong. They WILL NOT criticize their own, no matter what.
One Roger Simon, said a-hole, proves Our point in his column:
On behalf of the media, I would like to say we are sorry.
On behalf of the elite media, I would like to say we are very sorry.
We have asked questions this week that we should never have asked.
We have asked pathetic questions like: Who is Sarah Palin? What is her record? Where does she stand on the issues? And is she is qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency?
We have asked mean questions like: How well did John McCain know her before he selected her? How well did his campaign vet her? And was she his first choice?
Bad questions. Bad media. Bad.
It is not our job to ask questions. Or it shouldn’t be. To hear from the pols at the Republican National Convention this week, our job is to endorse and support the decisions of the pols.
Sarah Palin hit the nail on the head Wednesday night (and several in the audience wish she had hit some reporters on the head instead) when she said: “I’m not a member of the permanent political establishment. And I’ve learned quickly, these past few days, that if you’re not a member in good standing of the Washington elite, then some in the media consider a candidate unqualified for that reason alone.”
But where did we go wrong with Sarah Palin? Let me count the ways:
First, we should have stuck to the warm, human interest stuff like how she likes mooseburgers and hit an important free throw at her high school basketball tournament even though she had a stress fracture.
Second, we should have stuck to the press release stuff like how she opposed the Bridge to Nowhere (after she supported it).
Third, we should never have strayed into the other stuff. Like when The Washington Post recently wrote: “Palin is under investigation by a bipartisan state legislative body. … Palin had promised to cooperate with the legislative inquiry, but this week she hired a lawyer to fight to move the case to the jurisdiction of the state personnel board, which Palin appoints.”
Why go there? What trees does that plant?
Fourth, we should stop making with all the questions already. She gave a really good speech. And why go beyond that? As we all know, speeches cannot be written by others and rehearsed for days. They are true windows to the soul.
Unless they are delivered by Barack Obama, that is. In which case, as Palin said Wednesday, speeches are just a “cloud of rhetoric.”
Fifth, we should stop reporting on the families of the candidates. Unless the candidates want us to.
Sarah Palin wanted the media to report on her teenage son, Track, who enlisted in the Army on Sept. 11, 2007, and soon will deploy to Iraq.
Sarah Palin did not want the media to report on her teenage daughter, Bristol, who is pregnant and unmarried.
Sarah Palin thinks that one is good for her campaign and one is not, and that the media should report only on what is good for her campaign. That is our job, and that is our duty. If that is not actually in the Constitution, it should be. (And someday may be.) Link
So Simon repeats the somebody “else wrote her speech” mantra, straight from the Democratic talking memo. And the Obamer writes his own? Right, maybe the ones where he “uhhs” and “you knows” and stutters about a hundred times….
It’s okay to beat up on a 17 year old girl, because Palin talked about her son’s military service, at least according to Simon. Hey asshole, her son is 18 years old! You know, an adult! Her daughter is still underage. What, are you proud of your lefty buddies because they can beat up a pregnant 17 year old? Asshole.
Trooper gate? Once again, asshole, if you are bragging about “investigating”, then maybe you ought to read the report released by the Alaska State Patrol on the man at the center of the controversy. So Mr. Simon, you don’t think a man who tasers his 11 year old son shouldn’t be fired? That would make you an asshole.
That you didn’t bother to research trooper gate, makes you an ignorant asshole. That you actually write about your ignorance and brag about it and defend it, makes you an arrogant asshole.
Simon is simply a reflection of the mainstream media. That is why he defends a mainstream media that ignored Obama’s relationship with a church based on black liberation theology. A mainstream media that ignored a 20 year relationship with a pastor who damned America. A mainstream media that ignored Obama’s relationship with a crook. A mainstream media that ignored Obama’s relationship with two domestic terrorists.
And that is why he defends the mainstream media beating up a pregnant 17 year-old high school student.
And that is why he is Hell’s asshole of the day.

A fairly liberal friend of mine sent me this response to McCain’s speech:
THAT was the best speech of either convention.
He wasn’t the most polished – his listeners were rude at times – but fuck, I believed that he believed in what he said….
Don’t forget the other half of the equation. M. Simon has a rational point. Shouldn’t the media do actual reporting about the Republican VP Candidate? Well, normally I’d say yes. But in this year when the media has done no reporting about the Presidential Candidate on the Democrat ticket, I’d say no. M. Simon, before you can search out and if needed forge evidence or quote anonymous sources (a sure sign of reportorial perfidy) accusing Governor Palin of scandal, first you and those like you must investigate Obama. A good start would be:
1. Bill Ayers’ relationship to Obama. Ayers hosted Obama’s introduction to politics in Chicago and is a member of a bigshot Chicago political family, in addition to being an unrepentant terrorist bomb-maker who declared war against his own country.
2. Obama’s legal scholarship that led Harvard to make him the editor in chief of the Harvard Law Review. If this appointment was not on merit, or on the content of his character, but on the color of his skin, then we should know about it.
3. Obama’s exact role in the quashing of the Infant Born Alive Protection Act in Illinois. Exactly how many times did he vote against it? How did it die in his committee?
4. What exactly does Obama mean when he says he does not want his daughters “punished with a baby”?
5. Obama’s relationship to Tony Rezko.
6. Obama’s mother, father, and both white grandparents were well known as socialists, his mentor “Frank” was a recruiter for the CPUSA, and he went to work for Saul Alinsky, an open socialist, after graduating from college. How has this close association with socialists and communists affected his outlook and his plans for the US?
7. What are Obama’s thoughts on Solzhenitsyn’s recent passing and the author’s impact on the USSR and the free world?
8. If Obama is “his brother’s keeper,” why does his brother in Kenya live in poverty on a dollar a day with no help from millionaire Obama?
9. What percentage of their income do the Obamas give to registered, non-political charities?
10. Isn’t it remarkable that Michelle Obama received roughly a 200% raise from her employer shortly after her husband directed a big earmark to that same employer? Does not this indicate at least a conflict of interest, if not outright corruption?
11. How close is Obama to Governor Blagojevich’s [sp?] current ethical and criminal troubles?
That would be a good start. I’m sure I can come up with some other story ideas for M. Simon to pursue, him and his idiotic brethren in the media, should they like to do any reporting on the HEAD of a ticket instead of searching for scuttlebutt on the undercard.
But he will not take me or anyone else up on it that challenge. Because he doesn’t care to actually do any reporting. His goal is propaganda. Pure propaganda and disinformation and anything at all to advance Obama’s campaign no matter what it takes.

I have no problem with the MSM investigating Palin, but so far they’ve either repeated outright lies and on the trooper gate non-issue, they can’t even seem to be bothered to use Google which leads them to the Alaska State trooper report on the man at the center of this so-called issue.
And as you note, it wasn’t the MSM that discovered:
• that Obama’s church is based on black liberation theology, which in turn is based on communist doctrine.
• that Obama’s close friend and pastor, his “mentor” is unhinged, anti-Semitic, anti-white, and he spreads wacky conspiracy rumors.
• that Obama has a close relationship with a terrorist.
• that in one of Obama’s autobiographies, “white” people sure “is odd” might not go over well in Peoria.
Ted, just once, I’d love the left to respond to the facts.
Obama had his family on stage at the convention. Does that mean his family is fair game?
Trooper Gate is a non-issue. Did you respond to the facts presented by the Alaska State Patrol that I linked to?
The point is, the left stream media failed to investigate their candidate of choice, yet Mr. Simon, (asshole), wants to spread rumors about a 17 year old, and he wants to spread rumors about trooper gate-that if he would do a little research, he would find out the truth…
To a rational person, the bias is obvious. The left, well, just call the right a bunch of Christians burning books…. When did the left abandon a pretexts of logic?
