Elitism: The new racism...

No wonder the middle class is bitter. Not only are politicians out of touch and elite, but the act of pointing out their elitism, in Obama's case at least, makes you a racist.

We have enough oil to segue to some of the new atomic reactor technologies, which can provide us enough electricity to make electric and fuel cell cars feasible. MIT has placed plans for a modular (easily able to be mass-produced) pebble bed reactor in the public domain. The only thing standing in the way of making the U.S. very nearly energy free is greed and stupidity.

And an Israeli company has patented a process for refining shale oil (of which the U.S. has a superfluity) that is purported to be economically feasible at $35-$40/barrel oil prices.

And what's the problem with producing oil from sewer sludge and municipal refuse using thermal depolymerization plants? That aroma from the TDP plant is the smell of money. (Besides, processing of sewage must go on anyway, so why not produce oil with clean water as a "byproduct" allowing our sewage treatment plants to pay for themselves?)

"...the city of Philadelphia is in discussion with Changing World Technologies to begin doing exactly that." (Maybe they're still talking... )
