The Left’s New Authoritarianism Forces Mozilla’s CEO Out
Apparently, one can no longer engage in the political is one is to keep their job.
Brendan Eich was forced from the CEO at Mozilla because in 2008 he donated $1000 to support Proposition 8 in California. Defining marriage as between a man and a woman is now a capital offense against homosexual civil rights. You can read about it here.
Unless we stand up to the totalitarian left, there will be a religious and political litmus test to hold a job in this country.
The worst thing, though, is this statement from Mozilla:
Mozilla believes both in equality and freedom of speech. Equality is necessary for meaningful speech. And you need free speech to fight for equality. Figuring out how to stand for both at the same time can be hard.
Our organizational culture reflects diversity and inclusiveness. We welcome contributions from everyone regardless of age, culture, ethnicity, gender, gender-identity, language, race, sexual orientation, geographical location and religious views. Mozilla supports equality for all.
We have employees with a wide diversity of views. Our culture of openness extends to encouraging staff and community to share their beliefs and opinions in public. This is meant to distinguish Mozilla from most organizations and hold us to a higher standard. But this time we failed to listen, to engage, and to be guided by our community.
Obviously Mozilla does not tolerate free speech or equality for ideas that down toe the party line. That Mozilla’s Chairbroad could write these sentences while firing Eich is simply Orwellian.
First, I’ve uses various Mozilla browsers, including Netscape, Firefox and Seamonkey since the early 90’s. Last night, though, I started the painful transitions of bookmarks into Safari. Sure, Apple also loves themselves the Lesbian, cross dresser, where’s my dick, and gay community, but so far they haven’t fired anyone for heresy.
I urge you to dump any Mozilla product as well.
Second, while it is distasteful, our side must start drawing blood as well. Go after their CEO’s. Dig through their garbage. See to whom they donated and make them resign. Sure, taking one’s livelihood away is simply wrong, but until the left is hurt and see their blood running from wound after wound, they will not stop their authoritarian march to enforce the progressive party line.
So, who do we destroy first?
