Unexpected Surplus in September, FY 2012 Deficit Stands at $1.09 Trillion

The CBO estimates that in September, the government actually ran a surplus of $75 billion.  For the entire fiscal year, this nation ran a deficit of $1.09 trillion.  Official Treasury numbers will be issued next week.

Even with the September surplus, this means this is the fourth straight years of trillion dollar deficits.

This is probably a good segway into a new Romney commercial.
